Trustee David McCallum dropped into Wellington Allotment AGM recently as part of our visit programme and met up with treasurer Alan Deeney and chair Alison Duncan.

They explained the benefits of the £3000 sustainable grant-funded hydroponics system which ICF supported in 2023.

David said: "On 16th November I visited the Wellington allotment team at their AGM and joined Alison and Alan for a cuppa and a chat. I was delighted to hear all about their new hydroponic system, provided by one of our sustainable grants. This innovative installation allows rain water to circulate around the allotment site, watering when required. This saves on volunteer time and maintains a regular free supply of water. It is also energy-free and therefore compliant with today's environmental expectations. This group are a great example of how a team when working together, can achieve results, helping themselves and the environment."
