
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GRANTS
Inverclyde Windfarm Fund
Inverclyde Community Fund has set aside funds from the Inverclyde Windfarm Fund in 2023 for Sustainable Development Grants.
Grants of up to £5,000 will be awarded for the best sustainable development projects that focus on making a difference and that are likely to have a positive impact in the future.

Organisations based in, and individuals resident in Inverclyde are eligible to apply.
​
ICF expects to award around 6 grants to organisations and individuals through Sustainable Development Grants. This is a rolling programme and grants will be awarded on an ongoing basis to the best projects until all the funding has been allocated.

WHO CAN APPLY
Trustees of ICF are keen to ensure that projects supported through this funding make a real difference.
For this funding, you should:
​
Be a voluntary sector organisation and/or a community group in Inverclyde.
Be an individual living in Inverclyde.
Organisations do not need to be registered charities but do have to satisfy our definition of a voluntary organisation which:
​
has a positive community purpose;
has a constitution or founding document;
has a bank account in the name of the organisation;
is run by an unpaid (or mostly unpaid) committee;
is not set up to distribute profit to shareholders; and
is not run by or affiliated with a political party or a government body.
TURNOVER
Please note there is a business turnover limit of £500,000 per annum for applicants to the Sustainable Development Grants.

WHAT ACTIVITIES WE WILL FUND
Sustainable Development Grants will only be awarded to projects or activities that meet specific sustainable development priorities:

Energy Efficiency
Sustainable Development - This includes activity that makes a difference to:
Community or Society
The Economy
Culture
WHEN TO APPLY?
ICF expects to award around 6 grants to organisations and individuals through Sustainable Development Grants.

We would advise that although the funding could be open until 15th September 2023, you should get your application in as early as possible.
HOW TO APPLY - ORGANISATIONS
Organisations wishing to apply should complete and submit an application form and supporting documents.

A copy of your last annual report/finance statement/annual accounts.

HOW TO APPLY - INDIVIDUALS
There is a 2 stage process for individuals who wish to apply.

Stage 1: Individuals should phone ICF on 01475 866140 to discuss their project idea with one of our Trustees. They will advise you if you are eligible to apply, and if your project meets the criteria.
​
Stage 2: If the applicant and the project are eligible, you will be asked to complete a Sustainable Development Grants Application Form for Individuals below.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS
Sustainable Development Grants launch 1st August 2023
Applications open from 4th August 2023
Final deadline for applications by 15th September 2023
Assessments and decisions will be made on an ongoing basis
Projects must start within 2 months of receipt of the grant
Projects should be completed within 12 months of receipt of grant
An End of Grant Report must be completed and returned to ICF at the end of the project. If an End of Grant Report is not completed within 12 months, the grant must be returned to ICF.
Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis by the Sustainable Development Grants Panel, which will recommend projects for a grant that best fit the funding priorities. Depending on the number of applications received, ICF will strive to assess each application and reach a decision within 4 weeks.
