ABOUT THE FUND

Inverclyde Windfarm Fund

The Inverclyde Windfarm Fund is a grant scheme partnership between Inverclyde Renewables LLP and Inverclyde Community Fund.

The Fund has been created as a result of the investment by Inverclyde Renewables LLP, who built the windfarm development, which is owned by James Jones & Sons Ltd and Gresham House Asset Management.

The Fund provides grants of up to £1,000 for community groups and voluntary organisations to progress projects within their local communities.

The owners are committed to ensuring that the wider Inverclyde community benefits from the development. As a result, the Inverclyde Community Fund will receive an annual payment linked to the energy output of the farm.

The eight wind turbines stand 110m tall and are sited in the area around parts of Burnhead, Lurg Moor, Maukinhill Moor and Corlic Hill in Greenock (pictured).

WHAT WE CAN SUPPORT

Inverclyde Windfarm Fund

WHO CAN APPLY

Any organisation which provides services or activities which clearly benefit Inverclyde.

The maximum grant under this programme is £1,000 and the trustees are keen to ensure that the grants are directed at small projects which can make a big difference. Priority will be given to organisations which demonstrate good governance and good practice.

Applicants do not need to be registered charities but do have to demonstrate that they are a not for profit voluntary organisation which:

  • has a positive community purpose;

  • has an approved and dated constitution or equivalent founding document which includes a 'dissolution clause' to ensure that any funds remain for charitable or not for profit purposes if the group has to close;

  • has a bank account in the name of the organisation and requires two unrelated people to authorise all payments;

  • is run by a mainly voluntary/unpaid committee;

  • is not set up to distribute profit to shareholders; and

  • is not run by or affiliated with a political party, trade union or a government body.

Any applicants in receipt of multiple awards already should contact ICF before making another application.
